YORKSHIRE LEAGUE
RESULTS 2022/23
The first division was closely fought this year and it came down to the last few matches with East Leeds eventually taking the win, beating Harrogate and East Leeds by 4 points. The second division was also close at the top with Horsforth being pipped at the post by York RI. We had four successful weekends in York for the third division, with Bridlington taking the win with 21 points.
We have five more teams joining the leagues for next season so that is really exiting to see the leagues growing and the leagues are being rearranged accordingly. It will give us two divisions with 10 in and one with 9 in.
BADMINTON ENGLAND/YORKSHIRE AFFILIATION
If you are not a member of an affiliated club but wish to become affiliated through Yorkshire Badminton to Badminton England, then join "The Tykes Badminton Club." This is a "virtual" club set up to allow anyone to become affiliated even if your club isn't. Any player who wishes to play in the Yorkshire League must be affiliated to BE and to Yorkshire County.
Players who represent Yorkshire in the SCC for seniors or Masters and who play in BE tournaments must also have a Compete Licence which is an additional £12 on top of affiliation obtained directly from BE. Membership of Tykes is standard affiliation to Badminton England and Yorkshire only.
