REMEMBERING JOHN ELLIS
The Annual General Meeting of the Association took place on the 9th July and below is the annual report which outlines all the activities of the Association in the past 12 months.
John Ellis became involved in badminton in Yorkshire as his son, Andrew, was an England player, having come through the Yorkshire ranks as a junior player.
During his time as a volunteer for the county, he managed the Under 11 and Under 13 junior teams, was Chairman of the Schools and Youth Committee (where he was part of the Yorkshire Badminton Association Executive Committee and Council), organised and ran many junior tournaments and also took on the role of Match Secretary for the Shires League.
John sadly passed away April 2022 and will be greatly missed by the badminton community. The passion and dedication he brought to the sport will always be remembered. Our thoughts and prayers are with Barbara and his family at this time.
